I'm trying to be on top of my Christmas card Making this year and so at the weekend I managed to get a few made and this one fits the theme over at Sparkles Christmas Challenge this month as it's snowflakes

The backing Papers are some i found when I was sorting out all my Christmas stash ready for this year and the image is stamped and its one I think I got free with a magazine and then I've coloured it with my promarkers

Birthday Card

I have a friends birthday coming up soon and so when I had some time in my craft room at the weekend I made this card for her. It's using an image from one of LOTV art pads. I do love these they make for some great cards this is from pad English Charm (set 24) and the sentiment is from General Sentiments (set 8 ) which is also an Art Pad

I'd like to enter this into Scribble and Scrap challenge which is Anything Goes

August Tags

Its time to share my August Tags for this months Technique Tag Swap over at Chocolate Baroque
This month our technique was to make a Masterboard using 2 layers of acrylic paint and something to take off some of the second layer to reveal the paint underneath. I used bubble wrap to do this

Show and Tell 2

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to win a set of stamps over on Vicky's blog here Vicky is a Stampin Up Demonstrator who makes some gorgeous cards do pop along and visit her blog to see for yourselves. Anyway I won the set of clear Acrylic stamps called Show and Tell 2 and just recently I got round to having a play with them and this is the card I made

I have to admit these stamps aren't my usual style and not something I would have chosen to buy but so I really wasn't sure what to do with them. However after a bit of playing around and a couple of attempts that ended up in the bin I finally made this card that Im fairly happy with. The inks and backing paper are also from Stampin Up and were already in my stash.

I'd like to enter this into

Another Tag

Gosh 2 posts in one day now that is quite something for me although the first one was scheduled with Mr Blogger

When I made my butterfly tag the other day (you can find it here)I also made this one using the same colours and a similar technique but i also used grunge paste through a stencil and then added treasure gold building wax to the raised areas. The stamps in the background are from Chocolate Baroque so I'm going to enter it into the monthly challenge here but I'm not sure if it will qualify as an entry as the stamping isn't such a focal image as it really should be

Work in Progress Wednesday 13th August 2014

Well this post is called work in progress but actually i have made very little progress on my piece in the last month. We had holidays a week away and then DH had another 2 weeks off work when we were out and about and making the most of the glorious weather we have been having so very little sewing got done. I have though made a start on the backstitch this last week so if you look carefully you can see a little bit of progress has been made.

I am as always linking up with Sharon on her blog here where you can read all about WIPW and see what others are doing too so why don't you pop along over and see.

Card Group

Saturday was my monthly card group and this time it was Fran's turn to lead us in what we were making. First of all we made this very pretty box card which took us quite a while to complete but the finished card is well worth the time it took and I'm sure if I was to make another it wouldn't take me as long

Our second card was very quick and easy to make and is a good one for using up scraps of paper and card. Please excuse the poor photo of this one as Sunday was such an awful wet day but I needed to take a photo of the card before I gave it to a friends daughter for her birthday. The layers were green and lilac which matched the floral paper perfectly but which really don't shoe up at all well in this photo

Made from scraps

I was having a play at the weekend and decided I really needed to use up some of the left over bits and pieces I had from a class I did earlier this year and this is one of the cards that I made. Apart from the base card all the other bits I used are leftover snipers and so I'm going to link up with Pixies Snippets Playground

New Challenge Blog

Good morning everyone i hope you are all well and continuing to enjoy the summer that is if you are in the Northern Hemisphere and that if you are in the Southern Hemisphere your winter isn't too severe

Have you heard there is a new challenge blog in the blogosphere? Glenda and the lovely ladies over at Chocolate baroque have started a monthly challenge blog and this is the first month. You can read all about it here

The inspiration for this month is a picture and a collection of colours which is below

This is my entry for this months challenge.

The background was made using Brusho Crystals dropped onto wet water colour paper and then it was overstamped with Rich Coco Memento ink

The butterfly was stamped with black archival ink and has been painted with Cosmic Shimmer paints although it doesn't show up very well in the photo
