Printable Craft Shop DT call

The Printable Craft Shop are having a DT call which is a new venture for them and this is the card I have made as my DT entry

I have used one of the Freebie dig kits available on their website here  although I have taken elements from the kit and used them along with some card from my stash and an embossing folder to make my card for the DT call. The store is linked to the My Crafts - Craft Community that you can find here This is a great community of all sorts of crafty people mainly those into paper crafting although we also share our love of other crafts including knitting, crochet and cross stitch so everyone is welcome.

Tp make my card i have made an A5 base card out of pale green card and I've used a snippet of Stamping' Up dotty paper to add a strip about one third of the way up on my base card. Ive embossed a piece of Core'dinations green card which Ive then sanded back to show the inner layer of paler green card. To this I have added the flowers from the freebie dig kit which I have decoupaged to add some dimension although this doesn't show as well as i wanted in the photo. the centre of the main flower has a layer of glossy accents added to give some shine as does the centre of the plain peach flower. The sentiment is stamped using a Chocolate Baroque greeting stamp.

Silhouette Journal 52 week 4

Well its the fourth week of the Journal 52 project and so far Im managing to keep up. This week our prompt is Silhouette. I have so many silhouette stamps that it was hard to choose but this is one of my new Stampscape stamps and it was calling out to me to use it lol I also used a Chocolate Baroque stamp for the foliage in the foreground to give my scene a bit more dimension. Lots of practice is still needed for the colouring of these stamps but I thought i would use this one in my journal as its my starting point and hopefully I will be able to see my progress through the year.

If you want to join in the journal 52 challenge and you can do so at any time the link is here

Something different

This last couple of weeks I have been playing around with some different bases for my crafting. I found these plywood (I think) hearts when I was tidying out a draw in my craft room, I bought them ages and ages ago but I had great fun over a few sessions decorating them. I thought they might make nice simple gifts for my crafty friends

Washi card

I made this card the other day at the end of a crafting session using up some leftover bits of twine and washi tape. I added the longer pieces of washi tape but the short bits were leftovers. I saw this idea here and liked it this is my take on it

It was very easy to make simply take a card blank and lay over strips of wash tape and stick them down. Add the twine bow and a sentiment and you are done

I'm joining in with Pixie's Snippets again this week so I'm hoping my use of wash tape leftovers makes it count

Conversation..... Journal 52 week 3

This week over at the journal 52 challenge the inspiration is to use a conversation that you have had as your as your starting point for this weeks page
I found this quite tricky to begin with......which conversation to choose, what part of it, how do you represent a conversation on a page?  Then I had my eureka moment. I have been chatting to several people over the last week about holidays and what they mean so this is what I have used as my inspiration.
To begin with I wasn't happy with my page so I added some extra stamping to the background and although I'm still not completely happy it is better than it was before. Some of the background stamping doesn't show up very well as it's quite pale and the lighting today is very poor its such a grey day. Anyway I hope you can get a feel of my conversations and my page

Butterflies + B is for Brads.

I thought I would join in with the new challenge over at Butterfly Challenge which you can find here. This is a fortnightly challenge and your piece of work must include a butterfly plus one other stated item which this time is to include brads in your project. I have joined in with the butterfly challenge before but not for a while and to include a second specified item is new for 2015.

My card is a very quick and simple one as i am short of time but it does include a butterfly and I've added some brads too

I'm entering this into
Butterfly challenge 22 Butterfly + B is for Brads
Simply Create Too which is Happy Mothers' Day or For a Female

Just Be...Journal 52 week 2

Just be, is the inspiration for this weeks journal 52 page. I have made a double page spread with lots of blank space this time as finding time and space to "Just Be" is what I need to make more effort to do. I've used greens as to me they are very calming colours.
